Chuoo Park in March

Let me show you how the Kanto region looks like in the beginning of March. The average high is about 13 degrees (Celsius), so when the weather is good we can go out without a coat, and I think it is the best temperature to play sports outside. It starts to get warmer at the end of February, but in March, we do realize the spring has come.

This is the opening of Chuoo Park (the central park) in my city. This park is very close to Expo Center that I showed you before, and as it is situated in front of the library, many people relax in this park after reading books there.

The animal that symbolizes our city is owl. As you know, owl is known as a wise bird, and as our city has lots of laboratories and good high schools that let students to enroll in colleges, this owl called Tsukutsuku represents the feature of our city.

There are some monuments like this that let the citizens to learn more. As you know, this is Saturn and it says its revolution period is about 10,759 days, and the daily rotation period is about 10 hours.

And this shows us how the world 500 million years ago looked like. It says it was the time when trilobites lived. There are some other monuments in this park that inform us of the ancient times.

As I told you before, the plum trees can be seen almost everywhere in Japan. And the trees with the white blossoms you're seeing are of course plum ones. If you walk along this path you can go round this park in a few minutes.

This woman is the genie of trees and what she's holding is again an owl. This statue was made in '85, and as I told you before the year was when our city started to develop rapidly.

Upon seeing these marguerite flowers, I couldn't help but think that the winter was already gone. The Kanto region, which my city is in, is at lower altitudes than Europe and Russia, so we start to feel the warmth of spring much earlier.

I sometimes show you one of the parks in my city, but its purpose is let you know how the nature in the season looks like in Japan. The early spring is when people are waiting for the cherry tress to bloom, and we can see the buds getting bigger day by day =)
